It suits one or two people, and the reason to pick it over a 250 is almost always space rather than money: a narrow side path, a unit courtyard, a laundry corner that a bigger tank simply will not go into. REHP-CO2-160SST-V2160 L in stainless. Same footprint and same compressor as the glass-lined 160, with no anode to swap and a 15-year tank warranty instead of 10. On a unit or an investment property, where nobody is going to remember an anode in year six, that difference is the whole argument.

REHP-CO2-250GL-V2The smallest tank in the split range that still makes sense for a family, running the same CO₂ compressor as the 315. Glass-lined means a sacrificial anode, a part we swap every five to seven years, and it does an honest job in normal town water.

REHP-CO2-250SST-V2Same volume and same footprint as the glass-lined 250, in stainless. There's no anode to swap and the tank warranty runs 15 years rather than 10. The question it answers is how long you plan to be in the house.
