Air conditioning, installed properly

Licensed refrigeration technicians installing split-system, multi-head and ducted air conditioning across every postcode within 75 km of Pakenham. Fixed-price quotes back in 12 business hours, most single-split installs done the same visit, and a 6-year workmanship warranty on every job. We spec Mitsubishi Electric first. It runs under a 1% failure rate across the range, which is the number that matters when you're the one who has to come back, and Kaden where the job calls for it. Same install team, same warranty, same finish either way.

Everyday benefits

Every aircon installation we do, done properly.

ARCtick-licensed refrigeration. All refrigerant handling by ARC-certified technicians. Legally required, and we hold the ticket.

Choose your system

Four shapes. One of them is your house.

Before anyone talks model numbers, the choice is what shape the system takes — one room or the whole house, on the wall or in the roof, refrigerated or evaporative. Everything else follows from that.

Reverse cycle air conditioning

Mitsubishi Electric · Kaden

One machine that both heats and cools — a heat pump on the wall or in the roof. It's the cheapest way to heat a Melbourne home, it's now VEU-rebate eligible, and it comes in three shapes: a split for a room, multi-head for a few, ducted for the whole house.

  • One machine, both seasonsHeats in winter, cools in summer
  • About a third of gas to runA heat pump moves heat, it doesn't burn anything

Split system air conditioning

Mitsubishi Electric · Kaden

One outdoor unit, one indoor head. The right answer for a bedroom, a living room or a granny flat: the simplest system there is, the least to run, and the quickest to get in. Most go in back-to-back in a single morning.

  • Sized to the room2.5, 5.0 or 7.1 kW — not whatever's on the truck

Mitsubishi Electric · Kaden

from $3,900 installed

Evaporative cooling

Brivis · Kaden

Roof-mounted, runs on water and a fan rather than refrigerant. Cheap to run and moves a lot of air, which suits the drier inland suburbs. Needs windows cracked to work, and it struggles on humid days.

  • Right for dry heatBest in the drier north and east

How it looks

What it actually looks like on the wall.

Nobody asks this at the quote and everybody thinks it. An indoor head is about the size of a long shoebox and sits high on the wall; the outdoor unit is the part that ends up down the side of the house. What decides whether it looks tidy is the pipework, and that is entirely down to who installs it.

  • ~80 × 30 cmA typical indoor head, mounted high
  • Colour-matchedCapping over the pipework, not bare lagging
  • Levelled + ratedWall brackets or a ground stand, never bricks
  • Cored and sealedOne neat penetration, drop sheets down

Which one is right for my home?

How many rooms, what's above the ceiling, and what's there now. Runs in your browser — nothing recorded, nothing sent.

How many rooms do you want done?
Is there roof space above the ceiling?
What's there now?

Answer the three and the answer appears here.

Keeping it working

It only stays quiet if somebody cleans it.

Almost every January call-out we get is a filthy coil, a blocked filter or a clogged condensate drain on a system nobody has touched since it went in. None of those are faults. All of them look like faults on the hottest day of the year, and all of them are an afternoon rather than a new system.

How the job runs

Our aircon installation process, step by step.

  1. 1

    Room-by-room heat-load calc

We walk the home, check ceiling height, window aspect and insulation, then compute the actual kW load. Nothing gets guessed, a 5 kW room quote sizes to a 5 kW unit, not a 7.

  2. 2

Written fixed-price quote in 12 hrs

Back to you inside 12 business hours with the model number, capacity, line-set length, controller spec, warranty position and total installed price. No 'from $X' bait.

  3. 3

    Order stock, book install day

Mitsubishi warehouse in Melbourne is same-day on common stock. We confirm your install day the moment the unit lands with us.

  4. 4

    Install day, usually one visit

Single-split back-to-back is 3-4 hours on site. Multi-head or ducted is a full day. Drop sheets down, dust extraction on the wall cut, conduit colour-matched outside.

  5. 5

    Test, commission, walk-through

We run it up, check refrigerant pressures, walk you through the remote and MELCloud Wi-Fi setup. You sign the job card when you're satisfied, not before.

  6. 6

Compliance certificate emailed in 24 hrs

Electrical and refrigeration compliance docs into your inbox by end of business the next day. Warranty registered with Mitsubishi in your name at the same time.

What’s included
  • Supply of the specified unit + all mounting hardware
  • Standard install labour (up to 3 m line-set for splits, up to 30 m for multi-head)

  • Refrigerant charge + commissioning
  • Old unit removed and responsibly disposed of
  • Full electrical + refrigeration compliance certificates
  • Manufacturer warranty registered in your name
We’ll quote it and let you know
  • Line-set runs beyond the included metres (charged per additional metre in the quote)
  • Condensate pump if the indoor is above the outdoor and there's no gravity drain (~$220 typical)
  • Structural rework, ceiling patching or painting after ductwork

Common questions

Quick honest answers.

If your question isn't here, call (03) 5947 8000.

How long does a split-system install take?

A standard back-to-back single-split is 3–4 hours on site. Multi-head is a full day. Ducted retrofit is typically 1–2 days depending on how many zones and whether the ceiling cavity is straightforward.

Do I need a separate electrician?

No. We handle all electrical work in the same visit. Our team holds refrigeration + electrical + gas tickets so nothing gets subbed out.

What size aircon do I need?

Rough rule: ~125-150 W per m² for standard 2.4 m ceilings. Rooms with big north-facing glass, cathedral ceilings or minimal insulation push higher. We do a proper heat-load calc in the quote, not a guess.

Reverse-cycle vs evap for Pakenham?

Reverse-cycle wins for anywhere in the south-east except the driest hot days. Evap is cheaper to run but ineffective when humidity climbs (Melbourne summers get both dry and humid days). Ducted RC is our default for whole-home.

Can you install on a rental?

Yes. We provide a written quote you can share with your property manager, and we lodge the manufacturer warranty in the owner's name. Compliance certs included as standard.

Do you install brands we haven't quoted?

We install every major brand for repair + service, but for a new install we prefer to quote Mitsubishi or Kaden. If you've bought a Daikin or Panasonic and need it installed, we'll do it as a supply-not-included job.

Quoted Mon, installed Fri

Took the old gas Rinnai out, dropped in a Reclaim heat pump, sorted the VEU rebate so it came straight off the price. Bloke on the phone is the bloke on the tools, refreshing.

Rebate handled, didn't lift a finger

The VEU paperwork looked scary online. They filled it all in, I signed once at the quote and once on the day. Rebate was already in the price. Painless.

No surprises on the invoice

Quote number matched the invoice exactly. No 'we hit unexpected wiring' story at the end. Nice change.

Split install in half a day

Bedroom Mitsubishi went in before lunch. Neat pipework, brackets straight, temp checked before they left. Would use again for the lounge.

Family business, feels it

Answered the phone myself, quoted the job, showed up to install the job. That trail of trust doesn't exist with most of the bigger mobs anymore.

Actually got up in the roof

Had three quotes for a ducted system. These guys were the only ones who actually crawled into the roof. Middle of the pack on price but installed cleaner than the others would have.

Cleaned up like nothing happened

Full ducted retrofit over two days. When they left the roof cavity was tidier than they found it and the driveway had been swept. Small thing but it matters.

Explained everything

Walked me through the Milieu tablet, showed the wife how to use it, showed us the compliance cert. Ten minutes of teaching that other installers just skip.
