Brivis fault code h01 69
Fuse blown, 24V AC voltage lost.
What h01 69 actually means
The fuse has blown and the 24 volt supply is gone. The heater has no low-voltage power, so nothing will run, including the controller in most cases.
What causes it
- A shorted component pulling more current than the fuse allows, most often a valve coil or a zone motor
- Water ingress into the cabinet or a zone motor
- Damaged low-voltage wiring, sometimes rodents
- Transformer failing
Most likely first. That order is from what we actually find on site, not from the manual.
Safe to check yourself
No tools, no covers off, nothing to do with gas, refrigerant or wiring.
- Nothing. A blown fuse is a symptom, and replacing it without finding what blew it just blows the next one
- Turn the heater off at the isolation switch and book it

- Isolate each 24 V circuit to find the short
- Valve coil resistance
- Zone motor current draw, one at a time
- Transformer output under load
- Inspect for water ingress
Can you keep using it?
Nothing is running. And the important part: do not just put a bigger fuse in. The fuse is sized to protect the transformer and the wiring, and a larger one turns a cheap fault into a burnt loom.
What the fix usually involves
Find the short first, then the fuse. Most often a zone damper motor that has taken water, which is a straightforward swap once it is identified.
Is it worth fixing?
That depends almost entirely on how old the unit is. Past about ten years on hot water and gas heating, and twelve on aircon, a significant repair usually costs more per remaining year than a replacement does — and it’s the same point at which the VEU rebate is worth the most, because old inefficient appliances are exactly what the scheme pays to remove.
